Wireless Video Streaming Solution Debuts at 2022 COPUTEX with Revolutionary Low-latency, High-definition, and High Stability
Topco Scientific Co. Ltd. (Topco) (TAIEX: 5434), a leader in semiconductor and photoelectric materials integration, takes part in 2022 COMPUTEX Taipei, May 24-27 at 4F, Hall 1, Nangang Exhibition Center to display the latest video codec chips of ViShare Technology Limited, providing low-latency, high video quality, and highly reliable wireless transmission solution whose performance is on par with directly displaying through an HDMI cable.
Topco promotes the wireless video streaming solution with ViShare Technology, an IC designer that was established in Hong Kong in 2012. ViShare specializes in developing video codec IC that is dedicated for low-latency real-time wireless video streaming.
Currently, a video source is connected to a display through an HDMI cable. However, there are increasingly more user demands on connecting the video source to the display wirelessly. These wireless applications require video codec (compression/decompression) to meet the cable replacement requirements of near-zero latency, visual lossless quality and high reliability. However, existing video codec chips in the market are designed to maximize compression rate for storage as well as internet download, and they are unable to fulfil these requirements.
To fill this market gap, ViShare has developed a 4K/60 HDR video Codec chip VT4060 optimized for real-time wireless streaming and it will have cable-like performance without compromise in latency, video quality and reliability.
ViShare VT4060 codec chip has integrated proprietary technologies in the following 3 areas.
a. Chip design: Patented parallel processing architecture dedicated for video compression and decompression
b. Codec algorithm: The patent-pending error correction algorithm can solve the latency and reliability issues in wireless streaming
c. Communication protocol: The patent-pending protocol can solve the latency issue in wireless streaming
Topco points out that the codec chip technology of ViShare removes the obstacle of spatial distance. Videos or scenes that locate thousands of kilometers away could be sent in front of the viewers by an invisible HDMI cable. As 5G network becomes more prevalent, the technology will usher in revolutionary applications in traditional video transmission. In addition to consumer electronics and in-vehicle infotainment system, it could also be applied extensively on cloud gaming, cloud computers, unmanned aerial vehicle, remotely-controlled robots, and AR/VR device.
Starting from last year, Topco has been breaking records in revenue for five consecutive quarters, with Q1 2022 revenue reaching a new height at 12.58 billion NTD, a 6.9% quarter-over-quarter growth, equivalent to an impressive, more than 30% year-over-year increase.
